Amsterdam Zuid is home to many major tourist attractions including Museumplein (Museum Square) with its top museums, Vondelpark, PC Hooftstraat, Heineken Experience, and Albert Cuyp Market.

In the district you can also see many monuments like statues, historic buildings and memorials. Zuid has many buildings that were built in the Amsterdam School style. It has also many parks including Vondelpark, Sarphatipark, Amstelpark, Beatrixpark, and a small part of Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest).

Luxury shopping in Zuid

Amsterdam Zuid boasts many high-end shopping areas of which PC Hooftstraat and the adjacent Van Baerlestraat are the city's most upmarket and exclusive area.

More typical Oud-Zuid shopping streets are Jacob Obrechtstraat and Cornelis Schuytstraat. On these high-end streets you can find interesting gift stores, posh fashion boutiques and chic eateries.

Oud-Zuid

One of the most desirable residential neighborhood with the city's most fashionable shopping streets and famous museums, Concertgebouw, and Vondelpark.

De Pijp

Former working-class quarter transformed into a vibrant and cosmopolitan city district with many bars, restaurants, shops and the daily Albert Cuyp street market.

Rivierenbuurt

More expensive than De Pijp, nearby RAI exhibition and convention centre. Many of its buildings had been built in the style of the Amsterdam School.

Buitenveldert

Bordering Amstelveen, with a large Jewish and Japanese community, VU (university), VUMC (hospital) and Gelderlandplein shopping mall.

Zuidas

Rapidly developing, high-end business district along ring road A10. World Trade Centre, ABN AMRO and AkzoNobel headquarters are in this area.
