Hap-Hmm

grandma-style Dutch kitchen, simple interior and low prices

Restaurant Hap-Hmm specialises in authentic Dutch cuisine and has been around since 1935. This charming restaurant has a changing daily menu and the cooks use only fresh ingredients and seasonal vegetables.

Good value for money

Hap-Hmm has a large group of regular customers - a mix of older local people and students - and a good value for money: a full meal starts from €8.50. It is often packed. You cannot reserve a table at Hap-Hmm. Sometimes you have to wait for seats, but it is worth waiting for the good food.

Interior

Hap-Hmm has a simple, old-fashioned interior. Note that this is not a place for hipsters or trendy people. Visitors can choose between the restaurant tables, and go for the whole tasting menu, and the bar, to have a few bites.

The restaurant is situated in a quiet street of Oud-West neighborhood, outside busy tourist areas but still on walking distance from Leidseplein.
