The Arcade Hotel
world's first dedicated hotel for gamers
The former Aalborg Hotel in Amsterdam reopened in February 2016 as a hotel for gamers. The new name is The Arcade Hotel. The hotel is an initiative of Daniel Salmanovich, an avid gamer. The first rooms have already been remodeled; more rooms will follow during 2016 and 2017.
In each room is an Xbox, Nintendo 64, Playstation, NES or Came Cube. Guests can also use loaner handhelds for multi-player adventures in the hotel bar.
Rooms
The Arcade has currently 9 rooms transformed into game rooms. At the end of 2016 another 15 rooms will be realised. The remaining 29 rooms will be remodeled at the end of 2017. In quadruple rooms there are 4 consoles so that all guests can play.
All the rooms come with a console and games with no extra cost, and handheld consoles are shared amongst guests in the lobby where multi-player games and small tournaments are played. If you want a specific game, you can request it at the reception, which has also a library of comic books and board and card games.
Location
The Arcade Hotel is located at the Sarphatipark, one of the most beautiful parks in Amsterdam, in De Pijp neighbourhood. It is close to the daily Albert Cuyp Market and Heineken Experience.The Arcade is a special place for people who love gaming, a place where travelers and gamers feel like they are staying at a friend's home.
