Caffe Esprit, with its outdoor terrace surrounded by trees and small houses, is situated in the heart of the city and has great views over Spui square.

From its terrace you can see the narrow entrance to Begijnhof. Every Friday a book fair is held on Spui square in front of the café.

Delicious food, poor service

The place is famed for its homemade carrot cake, cheese cake, club sandwiches, pastas, burgers and salads. But, as so many places in Amsterdam, the service could be experienced as poor and unprofessional.
