Headquarters ING Group
office building on the A10 ring road
The headquarters of ING Group – nicknamed 'de schaats' (the skate) and 'de kruimeldief' (the dustbuster) – is a 'landmark' in the southwest entrance to the city. It forms part of the development of the Zuidas (Southern Axis), whose economic importance is partly due to the proximity of Schiphol. With this building, ING's aim was to project transparency, environmental awareness and a focus on innovation.
The futuristic building, which is almost entirely enclosed in glass, was realized by the architects Roberto Meyer and Jeroen van Schooten in 2002.
